August 2019: Christchurch Cathedral Refurb complete
Another substantial Natural Slate Roof is completed by TOB with the handover of the Christchurch Cathedral Roof in Waterford City just in time for the annual Spraoi Festival. With the completion of the roof we envisage another fifty to seventy years at least before any works need be sought at roof level here again. We have a burgeoning reputation in conservation works with a portfolio of impressive works on buildings of National importance throughout the south east. Our roofing portfolio alone is highly impressive, including roof strengthening, refurbishment of roof timbers, installation of new high performance under felts, installation of lead or copper valleys, refurbishment of existing cast iron gutters and down-pipes and high quality re-slating utilising appropriate natural slate materials. We take great pride in the works we have done to date preserving buildings of great Architectural Heritage in Wexford, Waterford, Tipperary and Cork. Our works ensure that Buildings of Architectural or Cultural merit receive a new lease of life and ensure their preservation for future generations. Our appreciation is extended to Wigham McGrath and Partners Architects and the Vestry Committee of Christchurch Cathedral Waterford for their sterling work on the project. Another feather in the cap of Contract Manager Dan Casey aided by scaffolding contractor Vincent Woodlock and roofing carpenters John and Eamonn Ryan, with all the slating materials supplied by the Blue Bangor Slate Company.
