Grow HQ

Location:Ardkeen, Waterford
Client:GIY Ireland
Architect:Solearth

Winner of the ‘Retail Project of the Year’ Category at the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2017, Grow HQ is a gardening and food education centre located in Ardkeen, Waterford. The urban location makes this a thoroughly unique project.

The works involved in this project included the brand new construction of a striking building along with all associated external works. The building is a two-storey structure incorporating a pitched wild flower grassed sedum roof and provides for a café, cookery school, farm shop and gardens, retail space, course rooms, kitchen, offices, changing facilities, storage, roof garden, circulation and plant space.

The external works form an integral part of the overall project. The external works include both working and walled gardens, landscaping, carparking, paved areas, footpaths, entrance gates, planting, drainage connections, site lighting and fencing

A host of low impact sustainable and ecological features are included in the design.
